Our Printing Services
The Print Hive offer a wide range of bespoke printing opportunities, including correx printing, foamex printing, aluminium composite materials (ACM) and acrylic prints.
Below, we have taken a brief look into what each option is and what it can be used for.
What is Correx?
Correx boards are made using corrugated plastic and are often referred to as corriboards or Proplex boards. We prefer to use the term ‘correx’ as this is the most popular in the printing industry.
Correx is a common material to be used for outdoor advertising. Being as water resistant, flexible and durable as it is, it is ideal for use in a range of applications.
When printed as a board or sign, correx is perfect for:
- Estate Agent Boards
- Carboard Cut Outs
- Lamp Post Signs
- Election Campaign Signage
- Other Outdoor Advertising Signage
What is Foamex?
Foamex, or PVC foam sheet, is a lightweight material with excellent mechanical and insulation properties. It is good at resisting chemicals and water, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. With a range of colours available, foamex is perfect for signage and displays. It is, essentially, a lower-cost, less robust version of correx, designed for use in similar/same areas.
What is ACM?
ACM stands for Aluminium Composite Material. It is one of the best materials to use for outdoor displays or signage, where the need for a more robust material is greater. They are often referred to as aluminium composite panels or boards and can be printed and cut to any size, up to a maximum of 10ft x 5ft.
What are Acrylic Prints?
Acrylic printing is ideal for interior use where there is a need for robust, visually appealing signage. With their shatter resistant properties and long-life span, acrylic prints make the perfect addition to many commercial operations. They are commonly used for branding purposes, although can also be used to direct, instruct and inform, offering a practical way of displaying information inside or outside the workplace.
A: Acrylic prints can be purchased in a range of sizes to suit your needs, although standard sizes are available for those of you that don’t need a bespoke size. 12x16in, 16x24in are just a couple of the popular choices, but we can print acrylic to almost any size, small and large. Super sizes are available for those of you wanting to GO LARGE.
A: Acrylic prints can be easily installed using the 4 corners sets, supplied with each panel. The circular fixings are there ready for you to screw into the wall. All you will need is 4 screws and 4 pre-drilled holes with wall-plugs in to ensure your panel sits comfortably in place.
A: Images are printed onto photographic paper and reverse applied to 5mm acrylic panels. For a pristine finish, the edges are diamond polished to give it a professional look.
