To fit inside of a recess

Use a tape measure for accuracy. Measure the width at 3 different points as it may not be consistent along the entire recess. Measure at either end and in the middle, and use the smallest measurement as your width guide. To measure for blind length, take the same approach using the tape measure from the top of the recess to the window sill at 3 points and note the narrowest point. These are your two measurements to use in our cost calculator. Don’t worry about allowing for the blind mechanism, we work all of this out for you!

To fit on the outside of a recess

Use a tape measure for accuracy. Measure across the window width, adding an extra 15cm (6″) to the total width to allow an overlap either side of the window to block out light effectively. Decide where you want the bottom of your blind to end and measure the length of the window from the top of the fitting to this point.
