What is Foamex?
Foamex, or PVC foam sheet, is a lightweight material with excellent mechanical and insulation properties. It is good at resisting chemicals and water, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. With a range of colours available, foamex is perfect for signage and displays. It is, essentially, a lower-cost, less robust version of correx, designed for use in similar/same areas.
What is ACM?
ACM stands for Aluminium Composite Material. It is one of the best materials to use for outdoor displays or signage, where the need for a more robust material is greater. They are often referred to as aluminium composite panels or boards and can be printed and cut to any size, up to a maximum of 10ft x 5ft.
What are Acrylic Prints?
Acrylic printing is ideal for interior use where there is a need for robust, visually appealing signage. Shatter resistant properties and long-life span, acrylic prints make the perfect addition to many commercial operations. Usually, there are 4 colours that contribute to normal printing. These are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK as they are commonly referred to as). These four colours can be used to create every single colour on the spectrum, except for white…
What you have likely been seeing in the past is colourful print on white paper, meaning the white effects are usually quite lacklustre and plain – just like the paper.
We can use white ink to create highly detailed and complex designs not achievable with cut vinyls, great for unique and eye-catching window graphics etc.
The Print Hive will still use the same digital printing technique, only we will add white ink into the CMYK mix. The stock we use won’t necessarily be white now, allowing us to do much more in terms of finishing, designs and effects.
