Consider a pop-up shop on the pavement

This is the ideal time of year to reach out to customers…

You don’t even have to leave your shop to accomplish it. (Unless you want to!) Host a pop-up event right outside your door if you want to engage with current and new clients in a fun, memorable way.

Holding an interesting event outside your storefront will eventually draw customers in from the street.

1. Flyers

Send your customers home with a physical reminder of your company, such as a flyer or postcard. Place them on a stand or rack, or stack them neatly in one corner of the table. Encourage passers-by to pick one up before leaving and to put one in their shopping bag when they go shopping.

You may also use flyers and postcards to promote your pop-up by posting them on local noticeboards or putting them through people’s letterboxes.

2. Mesh banners

With an eye-catching banner, draw the attention of passers-by from afar. Mesh banners, which are constructed of fade- and water-resistant polyester, are a perfect choice for outdoor events. There’s no need to be concerned about windy or wet forecasts!

Make sure to use your brand colours and include your small business name and logo in your banner. To attract clients from afar, your brand should be seen from a distance, and you can include other information that is readable as they get near, such as menu details.

3. T-shirts

Wearing your brand as a small company owner is one of the most effective methods to raise awareness. So, from the time customers walk by your event, make sure you’re portraying your company. Branded clothes, such as a T-shirt with your logo design, is one of the simplest methods to do this. A branded T-shirt not only raises recognition, but it also increases credibility – it demonstrates that you’re a professional and lends credibility to your company.

How to further entice customers:

Make a beautiful table setting.

Once you’ve got people’s attention with a banner, make sure they want to come over and say hi. Create an appealing arrangement — it might be as simple as a folding table with a branded tablecloth — to accomplish this. Decorate with some basic shop products, and maintain your display well-stocked with samples and marketing materials.

Provide a monetary reward.

Giving away free samples is a fantastic idea…

What can you do, though, to entice potential consumers to return? Add a loyalty stamp system to one side of your business cards or include a special offer on your postcards and flyers. Getting interested passers-by to return is a terrific strategy to turn them into paying clients.

Make friends with the locals.

Small businesses are essential to every town, so show your support for your community at your next event. Raise funds for a local charity, or invite local politicians, chamber of business representatives, and perhaps the local press to attend. (Your event might get some free press in the local paper!) Additionally, remaining connected to your neighbourhood might be beneficial. Keep up with local events so you can take advantage of the extra foot traffic.

Make an effort to interact with others.

Encourage attendees to contribute images from your pop-up on their own social media channels in addition to spreading the news about your event on social media. Make a hashtag for your event so you can discover their posts afterwards, and encourage people to follow your small company on social media. Make sure your setup is something they’ll want to picture – hang an Instagram-worthy backdrop and make your products especially gorgeous (colourful smoothie garnishes, anyone?).
